6239, 'Paul Newman' Daytona, Steel
A ref. 6239 Paul Newman with a black, tri-color dial from early in production. The 6239 equally marks the beginnings of both the Daytona and Paul Newman dials. Paul Newman dials are delineated by their square subdial indices, art deco fonts, and stepped outer track. Fewer than 2500 examples of the 6239 are thought to be Paul Newmans, or less than 15% of production. Amongst the most attractive chronographs ever produced, Paul Newmans embody motorsport, Hollywood, and the most romantic era of Rolex’s storied heritage.
