1 of 20 H. Moser & Cie ‘Funky Blue’ Endeavor Tourbillon ‘Concept’
If you’re going to be an expert of marketing, you’d better be able to back it up. Thankfully, the work of H. Moser & Cie is about the furthest thing from a façade possible. Possibly best known as being masters of the gorgeous fumé dial, Moser back up the aesthetic with beautifully-finished, technically-competent calibres. If you take each of those philosophies to the extreme, you wind up here: the ‘funky blue’ concept-dialed, skeletonized tourbillon esccapement-ed, 1 of 20, white gold Endeavor.
Fumé is a dial finishing used to acheive an even radial gradient that is second to none. AP, Moser, Anordain of Scotland, and possibly Zenith are the modern masters of the art. Moser, however, have a tendency to opt for bright and bold colors which catch the eye more than most. The ‘Concept’ dial range started in 2015 as a way to tell time with a hugely minimalist dial. That is to say: no numerals or indices. Pure, distilled fumé for the eye to bathe in. The only obstruction is this example’s impressive tourbillon cage at 6, fully opened. The whole HMC 804 calibre is cased in a large 42mm white gold case. Wrist presence, this will have.
This Endeavour Concept Tourbillon seems to have rarely been worth. The white gold is unmarred, lug backs clear of nicks. There are no knocks visible on its crystal. It comes with a full set from the name in independent retail.
