Patek Philippe

5575G, World Time Moonphase, 175th Anniversary, White Gold

Sold

A ref. 5575G-001 175th Anniversary, made in a limited series of 1300 examples to celebrate the brand's 175th year. It features a distinct case design in white gold and dial which features Geneva in place of Paris to celebrate the brand's home. Inside lies calibre 240 HU LU, a micro-rotor featuring the Louis-Cottier world time complication and (for the first time) romantic central moonphase display.

Worth Reading

2014 marked Patek Philippe’s 175th Anniversary, for which a small number of the manufacture’s great models received their own limited production. This is the 175th ref. 5575G, the World Time Moonphase. Unlike typical anniversary releases that focus solely on grand complications or aesthetic flourishes, Patek Philippe chose to reinterpret a classic: its World Time—complication the manufacture helped pioneer in the 1930s and patented in 1959. While World Time watches had long been prized by collectors for their practicality and elegance, the 5575G brought a fresh perspective by incorporating a moonphase display—a first for Patek in this genre—merging two beloved complications into one cohesive limited run.

The dial is contemporary, with 24 global cities twinned on a 24-hour ring, enabling the reading of multiple time zones. Rather than the usual aperture, its moonphase is displayed centrally, where a large sapphire moon disc rotates against the dial’s center, all set inside a starry night sky. Unlike most world times, the traditional European time zone hub of Paris has been replaced by Geneva, highlighting hommage to Patek Philippe’s home city for the limited series.

The 5575G exterior reflects both tradition and contemporary refined flourishes. Its 40mm case is under 10mm thin, with very sculptural lugs that resemble a classic lyre shape, yet remain separated from the bezel by a narrow mirror-polished channel throughout. There are no crown guards, a nod to history, and a simple solid white gold caseback engraving reads 175e Anniversaire, 1839-2014.

The 5575G Anniversary was made in 1300 examples, a nod to Louis Cottier’s 1931 invention. The integration of celestial motifs in this example set it apart as not merely a utilitarian complication but also romantic, almost poetic in attitude. As a milestone in the brand’s long history of innovation and elegance, the 5575G stands as a testament to Patek Philippe’s ability to honor tradition while pushing the boundaries of horological art.

Condition

This 5575G presents in excellent overall condition. Its case has not seen any work since new, with light signs of occasional use only. The dial is faultless. Its calibre 240 HU LU is running well in specification on our timing equipment. It comes with its full set and deployant.

Please note this is a partial, incomplete set: Inner & Outer Box, Leather Folio, Attestation Letter, Full Moon and Leap Year Calendar (No Setting Pin, No Certificate of Origin)
