1 of 38: Montblanc Minerva Heritage Small Second

I’ve been on a bit of a manual-wind three hand bend lately. You may have noticed. If the GS I posted a day ago didn’t appeal to you for lack of being loud and/or limited, I give you this Mont Blanc. I think brands should be applauded when they uphold the honest definition of a limited release and thirty-eight pieces certainly qualifies. But the limited nature of this small second is just a sliver of its appeal The tasteful design, slim case, unique NOS movement, and on-trend salmon dial don’t hurt either.

Minerva, you will be aware, is a swiss movement manufacture who has been producing this hand-wound M62.00 since the 1940s. When Davide Cerrato was tasked with renovating Mont Blanc’s watch brand, they were a perfect choice. Minerva utilized an inventory of new-old stock 2003 M62.00 movements and applied modern hand finishing techniques to create and astounding case back for the Heritage Small Second LE.

Finding a distinct style in such a crowded marketplace is a difficult ask for even the most storied houses. You have to applaud Mr Cerrato for doing just that in the last few years. The small seconds is one of his best in the recent releases and sold out almost immediately. This example, just a hair’s width from new, is your chance to get in on a great revival once more.
