Green dial 5711s are one thing. That is watch which says you are either an extremely close client of Patek or a bit of an idiot. And because the two are indistinguishable from a glance, the net effect Patek’s reseller’s are having is that of making their most valued customers look like adolescent hypebeasts. I find it best to avoid haute horology where Bloomberg starts reporting on resale value. Therefore, today, I present to my well-healed readership a ‘budget’ alternative: a very debonair and very limited Royal Oak Chrono that flew a bit under the radar last year.

A dial can make all the difference. Setting apart the secondary-market that comes from VVIP client watches, it’s a gorgeous hue. One of last year’s most popular finds was this UAE-Edition Perpetual with a spectacular teal affair. I trend toward the more discreet shades. Though it’s not subtle, this ice-blue Grande Tapisserie dial with its darkened sub-registers is a thing of beauty. To support that beautiful dial, this LE’s case was realized in white gold as was the full integrated bracelet. The odds are infinity to one that if you’re reading this, you probably weren’t able to get one of these at retail. One of the best things about the modern secondhand world is its ability to make dreams reality, at a premium.

This example sports almost no wear. Its clasp and case show little to no wear. There is a small scuff near 9 on its bezel on the polished section. That is a small battle scar on an otherwise perfect canvas. It comes with a full AP warranty until 2025 and full set by way of a well-regarded London retailed.
